Build With the Public

Don't just see the finished product. See how it was built.

The complete, transparent story of how Galactiqo went from a single idea to a launch-ready SaaS platform — the thinking, the decisions, the obstacles and the lessons.

This isn’t just a product launch. You’re watching the product being built.

The big story

One idea, taken all the way to market

I had an idea
I identified a problem
I researched the opportunity
I defined the product
I planned the work
I applied Agile / Scrum principles
I built the product
I encountered obstacles
I removed impediments and adapted
I tested and iterated
I began marketing it
I am preparing it for launch
And I’m letting people watch the journey

The build timeline

How it was actually built

Chronological, transparent and honest. Expand any stage to see the thinking, the decisions and the lessons.

Stage 1

It Started With a Problem

From “Wouldn’t it be great if…” to “What if this could actually become a product?”

What I was trying to achieve

Explore whether AI and SaaS could give small businesses the capabilities normally reserved for large companies.

Why it mattered

Small businesses often need big-company systems but lack the money, time, staff or technical expertise to build them.

What I did

Wrote down the raw idea, sketched what “a Fortune 500 in a box” might look like, and asked whether it could be real.

What I learned

A good idea is only a starting point. The real work is proving the problem is worth solving.

What happened next

I moved from excitement about the idea to interrogating the problem behind it.

Evidence & screenshots will be added here as the work progresses.
Stage 2

The Problem I Decided to Solve

Challenging the idea before committing to it.

Who actually has this problem?

Owners of small businesses and lean teams who wear every hat themselves.

What are they doing currently?

Paying consultants and agencies, wrestling with generic templates, or simply going without.

What makes it frustrating?

Professional systems are expensive, slow to produce and often need expertise the owner doesn’t have.

Could technology genuinely help?

Yes — AI can now draft the same documents and systems in minutes, at a fraction of the cost.

What I decided

To focus on the everyday operational work that quietly drains small businesses: proposals, SOPs, onboarding and planning.

Evidence & screenshots will be added here as the work progresses.
Stage 3

Product Vision

Turning a problem into a product concept.

Stage 4

Product Management

From idea to an actionable, prioritised plan.

Stage 5

I Didn’t Just Build It. I Managed the Process.

Applying Agile & Scrum principles throughout.

Stage 6

From Concept to Working Product

The technical journey.

Stage 7

User Experience

The product from the customer’s point of view.

Stage 8

Testing & Iteration

Iteration is normal — the imperfections make it credible.

The human behind the product

One person. Multiple hats.

These are different responsibilities — not a pretence of a large team. Behind the scenes, one person moved between disciplines.

Richard Botchway

Richard Botchway

One person, several hats. I identified the problem, defined the product, planned the work with Agile principles, built it with AI-assisted development and am now taking it to market — in public.

Product Manager

Vision, requirements, prioritisation and the customer problem.

Scrum Master

Process, Agile thinking, removing impediments and continuous improvement.

Builder / Developer

Turning concepts and requirements into a working product.

Founder

Commercial vision, customer value, marketing and launch.

Honesty over hype

Things I got wrong

Real product development is not a straight line. These course-corrections make the story credible.

Assuming users wanted more options

Early thinking leaned towards giving users lots of configuration. In practice, fewer, well-chosen defaults made the product feel faster and clearer. Simplicity won.

The business case

Why Galactiqo exists commercially

From a real customer problem to a genuine business opportunity — in plain language.

Business opportunity

The gap

Professional systems are priced and built for big companies, leaving small businesses underserved.

The value

Instant, professional, affordable business systems — without hiring consultants or agencies.

The opportunity

Millions of small businesses need this every day — a large, recurring, global market.

Building today. Launching tomorrow.

What changed:
Published the public “Build With the Public” journey — documenting the full product-development story from idea to launch.
Why:
Potential customers, partners and employers should be able to see how the product was conceived, planned, built and prepared for market — not just the finished result.
What I learned:
Showing the thinking behind a product builds more trust than a polished landing page alone.
What’s next:
Add evidence — screenshots, sprint notes and early feedback — as testing continues.

You’ve seen how it was built. Now see what it can do.

Galactiqo is the destination of the journey you’ve just witnessed — a working AI platform that helps small businesses operate like much larger ones.
